Thematic and lunar parks are classics of family recreation. Carousels, water slides, growth dolls, fast food and sweets – this is what a perfect holiday looks like when you are from two to twelve years old. Children just love amusement parks, which cannot be said about adults. But if you are a parent, then sooner or later you will still have to visit at least one of these parks during your vacation. Fortunately, many of them are located in beautiful places, where adults will find something to do in their spare time from visiting the attractions.
Disneyland Paris
The first place in our ranking is occupied by Disneyland Paris. This park is loved by many parents around the world, firstly, because it is quite compact compared to their American brothers, and secondly, because it is only a few tens of kilometers from Paris.
Legoland Germany
German Legoland is located in the town of Günzburg, near Munich. Little fans of Legoland will be delighted with this place, because everything there is made of details of this designer!
A visit to the park can easily be combined with a trip to the capital of Bavaria. In addition to the legendary beer gardens and historical center, it is worth visiting the Old and New Pinakotheki. And be sure to allocate one day for a trip to the castle of King Ludwig II of Bavaria “Neuschwanstein”, which, incidentally, served as a prototype of the famous Disney Studio’s symbol castle.
Port Aventura Spain
The biggest plus of PortAventura Park is its location. It is located on the Costa Daurada, near the town of Salou, ideal for a beach holiday. You can stay in Salou itself or in any of the nearby coastal towns and from there you can go to the park, Barcelona and Tarragona. Or you can stay in Barcelona, from it to the park no more than an hour by car or an hour and a half by train.
Ghibli museum Japan
Ninja Museum, Sumo wrestling, magnificent pagodas and parks, sushi bars and Tsukiji Fish Market – in Tokyo it will certainly not be boring for children or adults. Not far from the Japanese capital you will find two amusement parks at once – the usual Disneyland and the unusual, much more Japanese Ghibli Studio Park Museum, created by the great master Hayao Miyazaki.
Six Flags Mountain USA
Everyone knows that next to Los Angeles is the world’s first Disneyland and luxurious Universal Park, dedicated to the blockbusters of the same name studio, but not everyone has heard about Six Flags – a classic amusement park. Most of the Six Flags is designed for teenagers and adults, but there are more than enough attractions for preschoolers.
By the way, Los Angeles will not be boring for those who are not interested in attractions: beaches, shopping, luxurious parks and museums and, of course, the famous alley of fame – this city will not leave anyone indifferent.
Universal Studios Singapore
Of all South-East Asia, Singapore is best suited for family holidays. The city provides endless entertainment opportunities for young guests: the famous night zoo, excellent beaches and numerous children’s museums. Adults will surely enjoy the combination of ultra-modern and colonial architecture, shopping and Singaporean cuisine. A few years ago, Singapore’s Sentosa Island opened the Universal Studios Park; compared to its American counterparts, it is a relatively small park, but it is enough to make a trip to Singapore an unforgettable adventure for your child.
Hong Kong Ocean Park
Ocean Park in Hong Kong is a great way to combine the pleasant with the useful, because on its territory there are not only an aqua park and roller coasters, but also a zoo and oceanarium. The most interesting thing here is an aquarium with various jellyfishes, which will not leave indifferent even adults. You can get to Ocean Park by cab or bus from the city center, as well as from Victoria Peak. So, if you are in Hong Kong by car only for a day or two, try to combine a visit to the peak with Ocean Park, just consider that for a child such a program will be quite tiring.
Gardaland Italy
If you plan a trip to northern Italy with children, make sure to stop at this park, which is located just on the road between Venice and Milan, on the shores of Lake Garda, just a few minutes from Verona. This is the largest entertainment park in Italy, with its own water park, aquarium and a separate area for kids. If you try, you can go around it in one day, so you don’t have to look for accommodation nearby. But if you like to do everything thoroughly, it is better to spend the night in the nearest town Pesquiera del Garda or in one of the campsites near the park. Directly in the park has its own (expensive) four-star hotel.
Efteling Holland
If you do not like Disney and prefer to raise a child on the classic fairy tales, the park Efteling will suit you best. The same attractions, roller coasters and merry-go-rounds, but in a little more classic and calm surroundings. From Amsterdam to Efteling is easy to get to by train or car, but still we recommend you to stay in the park at least for one night, to have time to go around the entire territory, it is quite large. Efteling is one of the few theme parks in Europe, which operates all year round, so you do not have to plan your visit for the summer, you can choose a more suitable season to visit Amsterdam.
Grona Lund Sweden
Stockholm is an ideal city for a long family weekend. The main children’s entertainment is located on the island of Skansen: Unibaken Museum, dedicated to the heroes of Swedish fairy tales, ship-museum Vass, aquarium and, of course, Greenland Luna Park. The pearls of Grenalund are the house of Petson and Findus, where children can play for hours, and the Ferris wheel. Adults will surely like the old town and Drottningholm Palace near Stockholm, and modern Swedish cuisine will surely appeal to everyone, regardless of age.
